Halloween in LA – Fun in the Streets
Every year on Halloween, Carnival and Street Fairs take over the street of Los Angeles.
The main Halloween event you can’t miss is the West Hollywood Halloween Carnival … well unless you have kids, since it is an adult only event. From Santa Monica to West Hollywood, this street carnival fills up the streets with music stages, parades and of course tones of costumed people. Be aware parking will be awful to say the least, so wear good shoes because the trip from the car to the Carnival is only the beginning of a long walk!
Now, if you are searching for some family oriented Halloween events in Los Angeles, then the Hollywood Halloween Street Fair is for you. Get your kids dressed up and take them on Hollywood Blvd to go trick-or-treat from shop to shop. Though this is not an official events, you will think it is as thousand of costumed people crowd the street when dust fall on the city!
Halloween in LA – Scary Movies
If the costumes and street attractions are not spooky enough for you and you want that fear adrenaline shot then you can check out a few places for horror/scary movies.
During Halloween weekend The Million Dollar Theater screens family-friendly spooky movies during the day and classic horror movies at night. What a better place than a cemetery to watch a scary movie on Halloween night? Cinespia organizes scary movie screening in the Santa Monica cemetery on Halloween night ( well and during the summer too ) So get your scary costume on, bring a blanket… and join the dead for a movie night. Althought this is not a movie theater, it is after all the source of a lot of them… Universal Studio organizes an Hollywood Horror Night that is worth every scary movies. You better have a strong stomach as there is no limits to the gory adventure you’re about to start. Oh and you better like running away from Chainsaws!
Halloween in LA – Events with Kids
If you are traveling with kids during Halloween you can pay a visit to Mickey Mouse. Disneyland put on the fall decorations and the Haunted Mansion the main attraction! Every year is a different theme. Trick or treat nights are organized for a fun and magical family halloween adventure!
Knott’s Berry Farm also offers a haunted and scary version of the park with scare zones and special Halloween attractions. Did you know that Knott’s Berry Farm was the first theme park to organize a Halloween event? So come meet the Zombies and enjoy one the biggest Halloween event.
Halloween in LA – A Frightening Party Night
Many bars and night clubs organized a few parties for Halloween Weekend. Most require to buy tickets in advance ( like the Geisha House) and costumes are a must.
Every year, Lot 163 open its doors to the Costume Party and DJs for a fun nightclub party. The Highlands is also a famous spot to celebrate, and if you don’t go there for the DJs then go there for the view of the city… and the people why not!
Halloween in LA – Haunted Houses and other Spooky Adventures
And if you are not so much into the nightclub mood, Los Angeles offers a lot more Halloween events. For those who are not afraid of anything the Hollywood Hell House is your destination. As you traverse 8 rooms you are taught how every sin should be punished…leave the religion at home and get the parody… Terry Haunt presents a different theme every year ( the Clowns for 2009). And of course the one you can’t miss, the Haunted Theme Park more accessible for children but still spooky enough for all of us.
