Orange County, just south of Los Angeles is may be one of the most famous suburbs in the world. But actually, it is much more than that! There are quite a few things to do in Orange County.
Disneyland
When you are traveling with children, Disneyland is the place to be, but even for adults it is a Must-See destination when you are in the area. Escape reality and jump into a world where magic happens everywhere. Pose with Mickey Mouse for your family album, ride the most spinning rides and dance with Cinderella through the streets. For young and old, Disneyland offers a day full of fun and excitement!
Catalina Island
Catalina Island, the romantic island of the coast of Los Angeles is another worthy day trip. You can take the regular ferry, a fast boat or even fly in by helicopter to reach the island of Catalina. There are no cars on Catalina, so if you want to explore the whole island, you should rent a little golf cart to drive around. But the main attractions are easily reached by foot. Mission San Juan Capistrano
California is known for its beautiful missions and one of the most beautiful missions is the mission of San Juan Capistrano – also called the Jewel. Learn about the simple life at the mission, which was built in 1776 and have a glance at what everyday life was like back in those days.
Beaches in Orange County
Orange County has some beautiful beaches to offer. You can relax and enjoy the sun or be a little bit more active and do a bike ride on the beach walk (Newport Beach), take a surf lesson or rent a jet ski. A day on the beach is always fun and the options of things is endless. Going to the beach is so much more than roasting in the sun for hours!
Wild Rivers Water Park
If beaches are not your thing, but you want to cool off on a hot summer day, check out the Wild Rivers Water Park in Irvine. Rides, slides, rivers and pools in all shapes and sizes are waiting for you. If you only want to spend a few hours, use the late entrance special after 3.00 PM to save almost half the admission costs.
Crystal Cathedral
Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove is also a famous sight in Orange County. Whether you are religious or not, this church all made of glass is an incredibly beautiful structure and surrounded by lush gardens that invite you for a nice afternoon stroll.
City of Orange
The City of Orange is another worthwhile destination when you are visiting Orange County. There are hundreds of little antique shops where you can find unique gifts and souvenirs, as well as antique furniture and books. Stroll through the city center and stop at Watson’s Drug store, an original 50′s diner and drug store with an original atmosphere and good food.
Orange County has a lot to offer and you can easily spend a week here to see only a few of the nicest spots and sights. Enjoy your time in Orange County!
