Anza Borrego State Park
Anza Borrego State Park is actually the largest desert state park in the US. You have to pay a $6 entry fee to enjoy the park, but it’s well worth the money, if you ask me. In spring, you can experience the wonders of the desert, when the barren landscape transforms into an ocean of colorful flowers. Check the local newspapers when desert blooms.
Camping in Anza Borrego:
You have the choice of many different campgrounds in Anza Borrego State Park. Borrego Palm Canyon is fully equipped with showers and restrooms and RVs hookups. It offers 3 different campsites. If you have a tent you will enjoy it there, as the tents areas have soft sand. Tamarisk Grove is a smaller campground with showers and restrooms as well. And Vern Whitaker Horse Camp, well is an equestrian camp obviously. If you want something more rustic, a real camping experience, you have then the choice of 9 other campgrounds where you have no bathrooms, showers, just the nature and you! Remember to follow the rules carefully when camping in the desert. It is important that you stay on the roads. Never make a fire without using a fire pit and never leave the fire unattended… fires are a great risk in the desert and hard to control.
