To continue our Fox Rent A Car Blog series about traveling with children, we are taking you now to Seattle to inform you about all the great attractions and sights to visit when you plan a trip with children in Seattle. It is hard sometimes to satisfy everybody and to keep the kids interested. Kids might not really be interested in a city tour or a coffee tour. So here is a list of what to do while traveling with children in Seattle.
Seattle with Kids: Fun Outdoors
As you still might want them to discover most of the city with your kids, a stop at the park can be greatly needed. The Outdoors is a favorite activity for most of us, and seems to be even more true on a trip! Carkeek Park in Seattle is a nice option in this large city. With a large playground, trails and a beach, kids will enjoy running around while getting a bit of fresh air.
Another option can be a visit to the Olympic National Park. It is a wonderful nature escape with great camping opportunities and amazing views and sights to visit.
Seattle with Kids: Amusement Park
If you want to make kids burn a lot of energy, amusement parks are always a great idea. The perfect place for younger kids: The Fun Forest Amusement Park. It is mostly recommended for younger kids because the rides are not as exciting for most teenagers. But it is a good place to spend a couple hours for family time!
Seattle with Kids: Museums
Thought it might not be their first choice it is good to include a bit of culture in your discovery of Seattle with children. For toddlers, the Children Museum can keep them busy on a rainy afternoon. There are diverse hands on exhibits to help parents teach their kids about the world and how to do certain things. It is a great museum to develop children’s curiosity!
For kids 12 years and under, the Imagine Children’s Museum is a great stop to make in Seattle. The museum is built around the idea of a play ground with real life situations (farm, bank, coffee, art center…) to teach kids how to interact and play together while learning.
If you have older kids, they will enjoy the Pacific Science Center which still offers hands on exhibits for the younger ones, but also great exhibits for older kids and adults teaching you about dinosaurs, insects, space and a lot more. You can also plan a movie break at the Imax Theater, or check out one of the 3D shows playing at the time.
Seattle with Kids: Animals
Though it is not a very large aquarium the Seattle Aquarium can be a fun break from your city visit. You have 10 different exhibits to check out, and kids really like the touching pools, and will enjoy the fact that it is not a huge park, so not too much walking is expecting from them! Come learn about the Seattle aquatic life and watch professionals feed seals and sea otters.
Even if you have a zoo at home, after visiting the city, kids will enjoy a break in the animal kingdom! The Woodland Park Zoo is quite a large Zoo, with a great display of animals in their recreated natural habitat.
The Northwest Trek Park is a wonderful outdoor adventure to plan for the whole family. Ride the tram and observe caribou, mountain goats and bison. But more than just an animal-observing visit, this park offers great hiking trails easy enough for the whole family, lakes, and a great picnic can make your day the perfect family day in Seattle!
Hopefully this list of activities and attractions to visit while traveling with children in Seattle will help you make your trip full of fun and good memories.
