Fox Rent A Car presents: FIFA World Cup – History

The FIFA World Cup is the international championship of men’s football (soccer) teams. FIFA stands for Federation International de Football Association. This event takes place every 4 years since 1930. The FIFA World Cup consists of a competition between 32 teams, with a process of elimination to reach 2 final teams for the World Cup finals.
There are two stages during the FIFA World Cup. The first stage of the competition is called the Group Stage. In this stage the teams are organized in 8 groups of 4 teams and compete within the groups. The best 2 teams of each groups are then qualified for the second stage called the Knockout Stage, in which teams play single-elimination games, to get to the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals. A third-place match also takes place between the semi-finalists losers.
