This aviation museum is a one-of-a-kind place to preserve the contributions that have been made by and through the Marine Corps Aviation members. The New Children’s Museum
The New Children’s Museum in San Diego downtown has a motto that is easy to remember: “Think. Play. Create.” While the museum usually charges admission, they offer free entrance every second Sunday of the month from 10am to 4pm. The children’s museum is all about arts, which actually makes it a little grown up. However, the kids can get active in the studios and paint or build sculptures of clay, wood, paper, all guided by a professional artist. Let your child discover his or her creativity in visual arts – maybe you have found the new Picasso?
Strolling along the beaches
This is what San Diego is about. Take a walk on one of the endless beaches, bring a Frisbee and sand toys. There are a few spots in La Jolla around the Children’s pool where you can walk on the wet rocks to find some marine life. The tide pools often house a crab or sea anemones so be excited what your kid will discover! Mission beach in return is a great long beach that you can walk up and down and will find playgrounds on both ends.
Spend a Day in Mission Bay Park
A huge collection of playgrounds is in Mission Bay Park. Right off the I-5 there are several playgrounds for kids of all sizes. Children can climb, play on the huge grass grounds or in the water. Bring picnic items or a BBQ, since you and your kids will get hungry from playing and those awesome views over the bay.
