Whether you’re preparing for a flight that is set to take off the next morning or in a few months, you need to prepare your luggage so there are no problems once you make it to the security checkpoints.
Since September 11th, security has been super tight to avoid another security breech from occurring, which means you’ll have to be extra careful with what you bring on your trip. Even items that you would think are completely harmless might be denied entry onto your flight.
The last thing you want to happen is have half of your luggage thrown out or tossed all over the place. Below you’ll find some of the most important reminders for when you’re going to be boarding an airplane.

1. Don’t Bring Items on Airport Prohibited Items List
This includes pretty much anything that is sharp or maybe be used as a weapon, which includes scissors and any blunt objects like baseball bats and hockey sticks that you may be keeping in your Michigan GMC dealers car.
In addition to the obvious things that aren’t allowed like firearms and explosives, you may or may not be able to carry along candles, lighters, or even some types of aerosol cans and shampoo. Check with your airport to see what items aren’t prohibited. Some of the restrictions might sound ridiculous, but the federal government surely knows what it is doing. Besides, it’s for your safety.
2. Keep Your Cool
Obviously, having a tantrum on a plane has always been a bad idea, but it’s never been more detrimental to everyone’s mental health and your own well-being.
Even joking about certain things or just generally being a nuisance is severely frowned upon nowadays. You don’t need to be a stiff robot the entire flight, but if the flight attendant happens to mess up your order or spill something near you, don’t lose your temper and fly off the deep end.
3. Don’t Try to Hide Anything and Don’t Forget Your Identification
These are serious security risks, not just because you’re trying to hide prohibited items, but also because you may not have proper identification on your person.
While not having your passport or license may be a terrible mistake and cause you to have to miss your flight, trying to hide something may very well get you arrested or have you miss your flight anyway. If you feel the need to hide something, don’t.
If you need to hide something, there’s probably a reason why. If the items you’re hiding are embarrassing, just put them at the bottom of your luggage and hope the security personnel don’t make a big deal out of it.
Flight safety is extremely important. If you follow these reminders, you’ll have a safe and pleasant flight. You can also check out online classifieds for more tips on flight safety.
