Long flights are killer on the body and mind. Sitting in one spot for hours and hours is enough to drive even the most patient person insane.
With only the occasional bathroom break to get you out of your seat for a few minutes, you need to find ways to keep yourself busy so you don’t go crazy.
Below are a few ways to save your sanity during long flights.

1. Bring Plenty of Movies and Music
How many times have you watched a few movies at home only to look at the clock and see eight hours have passed?
Imagine if that happened on a plane, or even in your NY Mazda with the kids in the backseat being quiet for once? That would be fantastic!
And if you get bored of watching movies, you can sit back and listen to some of your favorite music to pass the time. A combination of the two will almost definitely kill at least a few hours of time, so your flight will feel that much shorter.
2. Bring Your Favorite Devices Along
You’ll most likely have your super cool smartphone handy, so that will certainly be able to keep you busy. But if you bring a tablet along as well?
You’ll have multiple gadgets to switch between. Gadgets keep plenty of people busy with tons of meaningless activities. If you can switch between them and do different activities based on their strengths, you’ll pass plenty of time. If one device becomes stale, switch to the other and open up an array of other activities.
3. Bring Board Games or Electronic Board Games
Even if you’re alone, you can play board games. If you’re with a group, it’ll be easier to play the physical games and pass the time. If you’re alone, you can use the electronic board games and play with other people online. Whatever the case, playing board games can really help pass time. A game on Monopoly could easily eat up three hours, and that’s a short game!
4. Induce Sleep
It’s usually pretty tough to sleep on a plane, but if your flight is fairly long, you’ll usually have the option of reclining in your seat. A good thing to do would be to bring along some sleep aids to help you fall asleep.
While it’s not necessary to take a sleep aid, it’ll definitely help you fall asleep and feel refreshed when you finally land. The best part about sleeping is that time flies by while you’re unconscious.
These are just some of the ways that will help you survive a long flight.
If you’re not looking forward to sitting on a plane for a long time, this list will definitely help you out! You can check out online classifieds for other ways to help you out, too.
