With your help, we have the goal to raise at least $ 5,000 to support the fight against HIV and AIDS. This year’s AIDS Walk in Orange County will support 9 facilities that contribute in research and support of people living with HIV or AIDS.  May be you thought your little donation will not make a difference. But every Dollar counts, well, in our case, every Dollar counts twice, as we will match your donations 100%!

The recipient agencies help in the fight against HIV and AIDS in many different ways. Whether they do research on  medication and vaccination, information to prevent the spread of HIV, or by supporting people infected or affected by HIV or AIDS.

May 22, 2010: Orange County Aids Walk

The Aids Walk in Orange County has been established for a long time. You’ll be surprised to learn that the first Aids Walk in OC was in 1986! Until 2001, more than $10 million got donated to charities and those in need.  Last year, more than $500,000 in donations were collected, and for 2010 the Aids Walk in Orange County has an even bigger goal: to raise $650,000, which will get donated to nine local agencies.

July 18, 2010: Aids Walk San Francisco

Not surprisingly, the San Francisco Aids Walk is much bigger than the one in Orange county, yet it started one year later. More than $74 million (no kidding!) in donations got raised for HIV programs since then. Last year alone, 25,000 Aids Walk participants raised a total of $3.5 million! October 17, 2010: Aids Walk Los Angeles

The last Aids Walk in 2010 for which Fox Rent A Car will set up a team will be the one in Los Angeles. With a total amount of more than $59 million since 1985, the Aids Walk has become the most important, and the most successful, Anti-Aids event in Los Angeles county. Registrations for the walk open in June 2010, so save the date and then visit their website.

Rental Cars Underage Driver Promotion: who are underage drivers?

Due to government restrictions, you have to be 18 years old to rent a car. However, due to safety and liability reasons most car rental companies will not rent cars to drivers under 25. Fox Rent A Car’s policy is a little more flexible. Drivers between 18 and 24 years old can rent cars but they are subject to an underage fee of $20 per day.

Fox Rent A Car is offering a great new promotion: the underage special! From today until May 31st, 2010, underage drivers will receive, $ 5 off each day on the underage fee on their car rentals. In order to be considered an underage driver for this promotion, you must be between the age of 21 and 24 years old. For as low as $11.99 a day, you can now pack up your own gear and pick up your rental car in Salt Lake City before heading to your favorite ski resort in Salt Lake City! You have enough room in your car, and a safe way to take your winter sport gear along to the best slopes in Salt Lake City. And best of all: You don’t have to waste money on renting skis and snowboards, but enjoy other fun part of being on vacation!

Note: If you decide to rent a ski rack at Fox Rent A Car, make sure it fits to your car choice. Check, if the car model you wish to rent and the ski rack match. You want to make sure you can fit your skis or board, but also that it fits on your car!

- The Yakima 8003070 ski rack is great if you have 4 sets of skis. However, if you are hungry for powder and travel with your powder skis (also refer as alpine fat skis) or freestyle skis (such as Scratch), you will only be able to fit 2 sets, as they are much larger than basic skis. If you prefer snowboarding, then be aware that only 2 boards will fit on this rack. Also, this ski rack only fits cars with the cross bars on the roof. The one going from side to side, door-to-door bars. This ski rack model will fit with our Chevy Tahoe.
- The Inno MV276 is a magnetic ski rack. Therefore, this ski rack only fits car without ridges (bars on the roof) as it work as a magnet on the roof of your car. This ski rack will fit on the Hyundai Elentra, Ford Focus, PT Cruiser and Charger 300. This rack holds 2 sets of skis or one snowboard. The great thing about this rack is that you can actually fit 2 rack on one roof, so you can hold as many as 4 sets of ski or 2 boards. However, be aware that you will be charged the rental fee for 2 racks.
- The Thule 5401 ski rack is adapted for cars with vertical bars (from the windshield to the trunk). They fit cars such as the Patriot, the Compass and our mini vans. This rack can hold up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards, unless you have powder skis, then only 4 sets of skis will fit.

Fox Rent A Car has a limited number of racks so make sure to reserve it in advance, when you reserve your car. Also, Fox Rent A Car will install the racks for you. The magnetic rack are easy to install and you can install it yourself if you want to remove it from your car roof during your vacation.
