Valentine’s Day Romantic Getaways in San Francisco
Really, the most romantic weekend you can plan in Northern California would be in the Wine Country of Napa Valley or Sonoma. With wine tasting, comfortable bed and breakfasts and all the spas around, you can’t really beat that! However, you might be looking for something a bit more dynamic, and an excuse for discovering San Francisco. So we’ll keep you in the city!
To start the day successfully and impress your loved one, we suggest having breakfast at Mama’s. This Breakfast restaurant is very popular in San Francisco. More than a wonderful service, Mama’s is highly recommended for its large selection of dishes, its delicious and never disappointing food, and the originality of the menu. However, popular, means busy, so get there early, or sleep in and get there later!
Then, though a lot of people recommend visiting the Fisherman’s Wharf, as romantic as it sounds, it’s Valentine’s Day so you need something more than just what you can do anytime! The most important aspect of Valentine’s day is to share a day together. So why not rent bikes and cross the bridge to go spend the morning in Sausalito. You can walk around this really cute and picturesque city with a Mediterranean touch, enjoy the waterfront and maybe get a snack close to the water. Then take the ferry back to San Francisco.
During the afternoon, why not try something a bit out of the ordinary and stop by the Golden Gate Railroad Museum. I know what you’re thinking: that doesn’t sound romantic at all! But wait! They have a great Valentine’s Day special called Romance on the Rails, which is a wine tasting and hors d’oeuvre event. It takes place in a luxurious train car while taking you though Niles Canyon for 2 hours. You have to make reservation ahead of time.
As mentioned in our previous Valentine’s day post, French culture is one of the most romantic ones, so French cuisine seems pretty appropriate for a perfect Valentine’s Day romantic way to close the day! Chapeau is the best restaurant in San Francisco for this. Elegant, romantic, charming are the best adjectives to describe the place; delicious, fine, delicate, flavorful are the words to define the cuisine served here. What more do you need to make your date successful?
Oh ya! Of course a hotel! The most romantic location will be a hotel by the water. The Harbor Court
Hotel is one of the most romantic and beautiful hotels in San Francisco, steps away from the water with a fantastic view, very comfortable and close to a lot of great sights.
