Time is passing so quickly and it is already time to get ready for March Festivities. The famous Irish celebration – St Patrick’s Day – is celebrated all over the United States the weekend before and /or after the 17th of March. So what are your plans this year? To help you figure out how to participate in the St Patrick’s Day fun, here is a list of fun St Patrick’s Day Parades for 2010.

St Patrick’s Day Parades in Las Vegas

Of course this great city so often visited for the party scene also has many parties to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. Las Vegas organizes a great parade downtown on Water Street each year. This parade is free to access. The whole town is painted green for the occasion and many parties take place everywhere.
If you are looking for something a bit more specific, and higher standards, the Mandalay Bay Casino plans each year an important event to celebrate the St Patrick’s Day festival. There are live performances, beer gardens, Irish music and a concert. This event is not a public event, so you need to buy tickets to attend.

St Patrick’s Day Parades in Los Angeles

One of the most important St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Los Angeles is the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Hermosa Beach. The festivities start at 11 am and include a large entertaining parade with lots pf dancers, music and floats! Of course every year, downtown Los Angeles organizes a St Patrick’s Day Parade with marching bands, Celtic music and a lot of people! St Patrick’s Day Parades in Orange County

The Annual St Patrick’s Day Festival of Costa Mesa starts at 9am and will go all day until 4pm with Irish dances, music and great entertainment. Come celebrate at Market Place.

St Patrick’s Day Parades in Phoenix

Whether this occasion is to support your Irish heritage, or simply another reason to party, you can find in Phoenix a fantastic day of celebration . It starts with the St Patrick’s Day Parade at 10 am and is followed by the St Patrick’s Day fair. So put your nice green, orange and black shirt, and wear your shamrocks the way you like it and come join the festivities March 13th! It is a fun day for everyone.

Just like most other cities, Salt Lake City offers on March 13th, a St Patrick’s Day Parade, which covers 7 blocks! Floats, marching bands, Irish music, green beer, silly hats and beads will also be part of the typical celebration. Make sure to get your green hat on!

St Patrick’s Day Parades in San Diego

This year in San Diego the great St Patrick’s Day Parade and Irish Festival will take place on the 13th of March. It starts at 11am, in downtown San Diego. The parade is a fun event where besides drinking green beer, you can watch clowns, marching bands and such celebrating the Saint Patron of Ireland. But that’s not it, you can also follow the celebration in Balboa Park from 10 am to 5pm. This parade has 2 stages with dancing, music, food, and beer garden to celebrate the Irish culture. This event might be a bit more appropriate for kids.

St Patrick’s Day Parades in San Francisco

The St Patrick’s Day celebration in San Francisco is a 2 days event! The St Patrick’s Day Parade is on Saturday, March 13th at 11:30 am, but the fair and festival in honor of the Irish Culture lasts until Sunday with booths of arts and crafts, music, food and of course the famous beer gardens. So find the Civic Center and you will find the party!

St Patrick’s Day Parades in Seattle

You don’t have to be of Irish descend to claim St Patrick’s Day party day! Downtown Seattle is expecting you for its annual green celebration. The St Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 12:30. The festival will follow until 6pm, with booths, music, and a lot of people!

- Utah Museum of Natural History – Get a flavor of the dinosaur digs at this museum.

- Living Planet Aquarium – More than 100 aquatic animals including lobsters, lion fish, sea horses and water rats is what your kids can watch and be amazed with. They can also touch a sting ray in a safe environment.

- Redwood Trailhead Park – Enjoy splash pads, climbing tubes, soccer and picnicking at this clean and safe park.

From there you can also find more challenging hikes, but still do-able for most people. To reach Lake Catherine count on a 2 hours hike. And then you can find even more challenging because of the elevation, to get to Sunset Peak. You will meet less hikers on that trails, but the scenery is amazing. And after all, isn’t it better to stay away from the crowded trails to enjoy the peace and solitude of the mountain better?

Then if you are looking for a more challenging hiking trip, you can keep going all the way to the Upper Bell Canyon Reservoir. Lake Blanche Trail is another moderate hike in the Salt Lake City area. It is a great walk that lets you experience nature and its wildlife. It is a quite popular hike, so you might see quite a few hikers on the trail, especially on weekends. This hike leaves from Cotton Wood Canyon. Remember that no dogs are allowed in Cotton Wood Canyon, so leave our friends home that day. Once you get up there you will find not one but 3 lakes: Lake Blanche, Lake Florence and Lake Lillian. Admire the glacier Sundial Peak by Lake Blanche. You are surrounded by a magical scenery. And then make sure to walk all the way to the old dam to enjoy the view of its 2 sisters.

On the strip, Vegas Tix 4 Less and Tix4Tonight have desks where you can buy last minutes tickets for Las Vegas shows and sometimes even for half the price you would pay at the box office. Tix4tonight has quite a few locations, so you don’t really have an excuse not to take your girl on a big night out! You can find them in the Showcase Mall, the Hawaiian Marketplace (in front Polo Towers), in front of the Riviera Hotel on the North Strip, the Bills Gambling Hall and Casino, the Four Queens Hotel on Fremont Street -Downtown (it closes at 7pm) and in the Fashion Show Mall across the Wynn Hotel. Vegas Tix 4 Less offers on top of its desk inside the Showcase Mall, a sidewalk kiosk in front of the mall. Another good way to find cheap tickets for shows are the package deals offered by your hotel. Check with Casino Perks as well to find out about “2 for 1″ coupons and save even more.

A great source to find discount tickets to shows in Los Angeles inGoldstar. Although this is an online service you can find cheap tickets to different events, and at a better rate then anywhere else. Another website you should check out is Theater Mania. As this is LA, you won’t find any actual ticket booths in the city. Also be aware of people on Sunset Blvd that want to sell you tickets. A lot of them try to cheat tourists off and sell faked tickets.

Cheap Show Tickets in Oakland

If you don’t mind buying tickets online, ticketloot is a great way to find cheap tickets for shows in Oakland.

Cheap Show Tickets in Orange County

Backpage allows you to find last minute tickets, that are sold by people. Sort of like the Craigslist of Tickets, if you want.  Sometime you can find good prices, if people make the show and don’t want to lose the money completely. Be careful: Do not buy online, this is not a secure website. It’s from people to people.

Cheap Show Tickets in Phoenix

Showup allows you to find discount tickets for shows, and tells you how many are left. They mostly have Art and cultural oriented shows.

Cheap Show Tickets in San Diego

The Art Tix Booth in the Horton Plaza Mall, downtown San Diego is a great place to find cheap tickets for shows, whether it is dance, theater, music, art or performance tickets. You can only by these discount tickets (usually half price) the day of the shows though. It is closed on Mondays, so make sure to check out this kiosk on Sunday if you want to see a Monday show. Note: Atlas Tickets is a great source to check out for last minute or “hard to get” tickets, but you have to pay the regular price!

Cheap Show Tickets in San Francisco

Tix Bay Area, on Union Square, offers half price tickets. You can only go to the booth the day of the show to get half price tickets, though. You can also check out online to see the tickets they offer for the day of the show, but if you do buy it online you have to pick up your ticket at the booth one hour before the show starts. This booth is only open until 6pm from Tuesday to Saturday and until 3pm on Sundays.

Ticketzoom, Oakwebworks and SongKick are the best online options to find cheap show tickets in Salt Lake City.

Cheap Show Tickets in Seattle

The best way to find cheap tickets in Seattle is through Ticket Window. You can find half price tickets for shows happening the day you visit the booth. Pay in cash and save on service fees. You can also check out the venue online.

Skiing Only Resorts in Salt Lake City

Alta Ski Resort is a great ski resort for everyone. Beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers can find slopes adapted to their level and needs. People enjoy Alta especially for its long runs, its scenery, and for it’s really good price!

Deer Valley Ski Resort is a great skiing experience as the resort covers four mountains (Flagstaff, Bald, Bald Eagle Mountains and Empire Canyon). Brighton Ski Resort is the best ski resort in Salt Lake City for families because of its value price: kids ski for free (10 years and younger)! This resort is a great place to learn skiing and snowboarding, but also offers advanced skiers some of the best back country experiences.

Snowbird is a resort for advanced skiers/ snowboarders. It is a smaller resort but well know for its high qualified instructors.

Solitude Mountain Resort is famous for its powder . This family friendly resort is usually less crowded than the rest of Salt Lake City Resorts. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels can enjoy a fun day on Solitude Mountain for a reasonable price.

Park City Resort is the most visited resort in Salt Lake City, so be ready to wait in line! Even though skiing and snowboarding is a bit pricier here, most people find their money well spent, whether they are experts or beginners. The Canyons offers you to ride 7 mountains in the Salt Lake City area. Expect a higher skiing and snowboarding difficulty level with great double black diamonds runs.

Sundance Resort is the Robert Redford resort! It is a smaller ski resort that opens later in the year, with no high speed lifts but less visited and cheaper, so great for a family get away.

One More Note!

Day care: All those resorts are great place to go if you have kids and want to be able to enjoy a skiing or snowboarding  afternoon (or day) without looking after the little ones. Licensed day care is available for you to take advantage of the slopes without worries

Airport: All Salt Lake City resorts are within 30 min to an hour from Salt Lake City International Airport. So make it easy for you: Fly in, rent your car, reserve your ski rack, drive and ski!
