New Rock ‘n’ Roll Restaurants in Las Vegas

Las Vegas has all types of restaurants.

They range from casual and fun to formal and exquisite.

But some of the best restaurants are also the most fun. We’re talking about the loud, exciting, and casual places that are affordable options on the expensive Strip.

Here are three new rock-n-roll restaurants that are sure to be a great time.

Gilley’s Saloon, Dance Hall & Bar-B-Que

Gilley’s Saloon at the Treasure Island combines country, rock-n-roll and BBQ for a great time.

During the day, they have award winning BBQ. At night, they have country line dancing, live music, and a mechanical bull!

Their nights include local country and rock acts, karaoke nights, and bikini bull riding on Sundays!

Whether you’re looking for a casual spot to hang out or an exciting night of dancing, Gilley’s has it all.

Cabo Wabo Cantina

The Cabo Wabo Cantina comes rocker Sammy Hagar.

It stays true to it’s roots with authentic mexican food and Sammy’s cabo wabo tequila.

The Cantina is located just out front Planet Hollywood at the Miracle Mile Shops. It’s the perfect spot to sit Strip side, and people watch or gaze at the Bellagio fountains across the street.

And with average prices ranging from $6 – $20 per entree, it’s also really affordable.

Lynerd Skynyrd‘s BBQ & Beer

Opening in early December, Lynyrd Skynyrd‘s BBQ and Beer will be a great addition to the Excalibur Hotel and Casino.

They will feature authentic, carvery barbecue from the Kruez Market in Lockhart, Texas. And they’ll also have specialty drinks and handcrafted cocktails.

Your average dinner price will be around $25 including a drink, so it’s another fun, affordable option.

But best of all, they have a 8,000 square-foot venue that will host live musical acts (possible even Lynyrd Skynyrd themselves).

According to UltimateClassicRock.com,

“It’s the kind of place that we’d like to hang out at,” Skynyrd frontman, Johnny Van Zant tells The Daily Meal. “With Southern-style barbecue and great music, this will be the perfect spot for rock and barbecue fans to kick back and have a great time in Vegas.”

New Updates to Bellagio Las Vegas

The Bellagio is still one of the nicest resorts in the world.

Originally built in 1998, the $1.6 billion resort was one of the most expensive of its kind.

The Fountains of Bellagio is still one of the most unique experiences around. The lake is 9 acres and has over 1,200 individual nozzles and 4,500 lights.

While the hotel hasn’t changed much, they’re starting to make some important updates that are sure to turn heads.

New Room Design

When the Bellagio first opened, the rooms were the nicest in Vegas.

But over the last few years, they started to suffer from wear and tear and old age.

The new rooms are bright, with large floral patterns that remind you of the fountains outside. They also have new carpeting, bedding, mattresses, and furniture.

They also go rid of the old tube televisions and replaced them with sleek, modern 40 inch flat screen HD TVs.

You can see some new pictures here on Vegas Chatter.

New Hyde Lounge

The long famed Fontana bar closed a few months ago to undergo a renovation.

Now, it’s begin re-opened as the Hyde Lounge. It will be a contemporary, sexy lounge overlooking the amazing fountains.

The bar will hold 714 people and 40 VIP tables. You can also order from the Bellagio’s 1,500 wine bottle program.

You can see some rendered pictures of the new Hyde lounge here on USAToday.

5 Vacation Destinations to Beat the Cold

The winter months are steadily approaching, and bring with them some of the things humans hate most: cold, snow and awful driving conditions. Now would be a perfect time to start planning for a vacation to escape the cold for a couple of weeks, because we all know how nice sunny beaches feel when your family is shivering near a fireplace in December.

Below I’ve included five of the best locations the United States has to offer, and I’m sure you’ll agree.

1. San Diego

Home to some of the prettiest beaches in the world, San Diego makes for a perfect destination away from the cold weather. In addition to lounging on the beach and enjoying some sun, you could also partake in the many activities that accompany a location such as: water-skiing, boating, surfing, volleyball and especially swimming. If you’re a sports fan, you’ll also want to check out QualComm Stadium, home to the San Diego Chargers football team. What better way to spend the day than to watch a rousing game of football and watch a whole slew of guys pound each other into the ground?

2. San Francisco

The Gold Gate Bridge, the famous trolley system and the world class dining and atmosphere are just some of the attractions most often affiliated with San Francisco. With an assortment of art and culture exhibits and attractions, wild and sophisticated nighttime activities and high class hotels, those who visit the famed city will have plenty to do.Take a ride on the trolley while you’re there, too. You have to!

3. Las Vegas

This one really needs no introduction, because, well, it’s Las Vegas! Gambling, drinking, partying and a loose atmosphere make this a hotspot for fun and excitement. While gambling in the casinos and viewing the special design of hotels like the Bellagio, Excalibur and the Hard Rock are wonderfully fun, there are other attractions as well like visiting spas, golf courses, racing and even indoor skydiving.

4. Seattle

While this may not be the warmest location of them all, Seattle does have a mild climate all year round. If you can handle 50 degree weather and a bit of rain here and there instead of 30 degree weather, you’ll love what Seattle has to offer. Aside from being a beautiful city, it is one of the northwestern cities that has a very sophisticated and youthful population. If you’re the artsy or culture type, you’ll be in heaven. But just about everyone will enjoy the ski resorts, beaches, dining and even the first Starbucks coffee house to ever be built in Seattle, all within an hour or two apart.

5. Phoenix

Phoenix has a very warm climate, and visitors will love the outdoor activities that are available to them. With many parks and outdoor attractions, all nature lovers will enjoy everything about them. Perhaps one of best outdoor attractions that many find to be exhilarating fun is the River Rampage water rafting and kayaking, where you can combat the white, raging rapids and make your way down river, making for an exciting adventure.

There you have it, folks, the five best vacation destinations for those seeking refuge from the colder months. You’ll be glad you took a vacation when those blizzards and 20 degree winds swoop in. That’s for sure!

Top 5 Las Vegas Daytime Activities

This is a guest post by Kieron, one-half of the team at travel blog Don’t Ever Look Back. With the support of Fox Rent a Car, Kieron and his partner Amy drove around California for 12 days last month and will be sharing some of their stories on the Fox Rent A Car Blog.

Las Vegas is known as the Entertainment Capital of the World with its giant casinos and world-class nightlife. The strip definitely comes alive at nighttime, but there are also many activities and sights to keep you busy during the day as well. Here are 5 activities that we really enjoyed during our time in Sin City.

Top 5 Las Vegas Daytime Activities

1. M&M’s World Las Vegas

Four floors of chocolate heaven and a 3D movie theater make this one hell of an attraction. Still not convinced? The second floor of M&M’s World has floor-to-ceiling containers filled with every single color of M&M you have seen (and more!) where you can mix and match your candy at a price of $9/pound.

2. Lion Habitat at MGM Grand

Open between 11am and 7pm daily, the Lion Habitat at MGM Grand lets you get up close with their lions – only an inch-and-a-half of soundproof glass separates you from these magnificent creatures. If you want to get even closer, you can get a photo with the lions starting at $25.

3. The Fountains at Bellagio

Most people go and see The Fountains at Bellagio after dark, but there are also afternoon shows that you can watch completely free of charge. These happen every half-hour after 3pm on weekdays and every half-hour after midday on the weekend so if you’re bored, go and check them out.

4. Go Shopping

No matter what your tastes or budget, Las Vegas has it all. Each casino seems to have its own collection of stores and there are premium outlets located just off the strip. Two of the bigger malls on Las Vegas Boulevard are the Fashion Show Mall and the Miracle Mile at Planet Hollywood.

5. Get Off The Strip

Sometimes you just need to escape the madness of Las Vegas Boulevard and the best way to do that is by getting off the strip. Red Rock Canyon, the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon are all within driving distance and can be explored in a day.

Top Las Vegas Hotels for Romance, Business, and Budget

Las Vegas is an interesting place.

You can have all kinda of different experiences. One time with friends you party and gamble all night long. A business trip in Las Vegas is a little more calm, and you typically just want a quieter night to yourself. And a trip with your loved one includes a fabulous dinner, and impressive show.

At the end of the day, you’ll need the perfect hotel for each type of trip. Here are some of our favorite top Las Vegas hotels for romance, business and budget.

Romance

Wynn Las Vegas

Las Vegas

I admit, the Wynn is my favorite. And there’s no better place to bring your loved one.

It has the perfect mix of fun things to do and refined luxury. It also feels smaller and more intimate than some if it’s competitors.

The Wynn also just renovated their rooms last year, so they are still some of the nicest rooms in the entire city. The only rival the Wynn has is it’s sister property, Encore.

Business

Trump Las Vegas

Las vegas

Now this may be a shock. But let me explain.

The Trump is in the perfect location. Just down the street from the Las Vegas Convention Center. And you can easily walk to the Wynn if you’re looking for gambling or a night out.

But it’s quiet, casino-free and a really good deal compared to other 5 Star hotels. They’re also condos, so you have a refrigerator and stove tops in your room.

Budget

Tropicana Las Vegas

Tropicana Las Vegas

Under new ownership, the Tropicana Las Vegas is back.

They’ve renovated the dark, dingy casino. They’ve added Nikki Beach and improved the pool area.

The new rooms are also really nice, clean, and just the right amount of luxury. Compared to similar hotels on the Strip, there is no better bang for your buck.

What about you? What are your favorite hotels for each class?

So if you find yourself making a last-minute getaway, then head to one of these top Las Vegas pools.

Hard Rock Hotel

The Hard Rock Las Vegas is the perfect playground for adults. The pool area spans over 4 acres, with two sand covered pools and an underwater sound system! The Hard Rock is perfect for lounging, drinking or gambling.

Mirage

The Mirage in Las Vegas was one of the original luxury resorts, and it’s pool is no exception.
